Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt
Sorry for the lack of updates again.. more college stuff! Today we have Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt! The description of this book is:
There are two sides to every breakup.
This is Jordan and Courtney, totally in love. Sure, they were an unlikely high school couple. But they clicked; it worked. They're even going to the same college, and driving cross-country together for orientation.
Then Jordan dumps Courtney -- for a girl he met on the Internet.
It's too late to change plans, so the road trip is on. Courtney's heartbroken, but figures she can tough it out for a few days. "La la la" -- this is Courtney pretending not to care.
But in a strange twist, Jordan cares. A lot.
Turns out, he's got a secret or two that he's not telling Courtney. And it has everything to do with why they broke up, why they can't get back together, and how, in spite of it all, this couple is destined for each other.
I read this book while I was in NC meeting Sarah Dessen and I loved it! I would only let myself buy one book down there because I knew I was getting Along for the Ride and I'm glad I bought Two Way Street! It's a book with both a guy's point of view and a girl's point of view. It definitely caught my attention and I could not put it down till I was done! I even read it during lunch! (oops) You'll definitely be dying to find out the real reason they break up and if they get back together eventually. This book was very well written and I recommend it to anyone! Hope you guys enjoy :]

Wow this book sounds great! I love it when authors write in both the guy and the girl's point of view. Library here I come!

Hey it's Angela again. I read this book too and loved! I really loved it... I'm a hopeless romantic. Oh and on your Just Listen post a girl named Henrie wrote about a novel she's writing and it seemed she really wanted to be responded to. Could you please respond to her?

Glad you liked the book! Thank you for telling me someone commented on another entry. I don't get notifications about comments I just try to remember how many were on each entry, so thank you for letting me know! :]
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh i finished this book today I loved it! I'm almost sad to have to stop reading about Jordan and Courtney. I loved the book and I cannot believe the secrets Jordan had to keep. It's almost unfair to have to do so. It was an excellent book thank you for recomending it!

Bella,
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you enjoyed the book! I felt the same way when it ended; I wanted to keep reading! :]
Is this book appropriate? I know this is a young adult site but my twelve year old daughter is VERY advanced and so she likes this sort of plot line. You should see how fast she can read, whew. You say you would recomend this book to anyone, anyone under sixteen?

Mrs. Tapes,
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind your daughter reading words like sex, she'll be fine. This book has a guys point of view, so in the beginning it's kind of vulgar, but after that it's fine. If your looking for some other recommendations and daughter hasn't read any Sarah Dessen books, I strongly recommend those as well. I wish I had read them when I was younger. I recommend The Truth About Forever and Keeping the Moon for your 12 year old. They have a lot of good life lessons and things that just make you think. If you need anything else just ask :]
Awww thank you very much Tricia. I've asked around on other blogs and no one responds so thank you very much! My older niece loves Sarah Dessen and I can't believe I've completely forgotten about her. She told me all about The Truth about Forever. What's Keeping the Moon about?
ReplyDeleteThank you much,
Mrs. Tapes
Mrs. Tapes,
ReplyDeleteNo problem! I love helping anyway I can. Keeping the Moon is a book about a girl who is living with her weird aunt for the summer. She has really low self esteem because she used to be fat, and it's all about her journey of learning to love who she is and finding real friends. It's a really great book for young teenagers. Really, any of Sarah Dessn's novels are great, those are just the ones I think are better for that age. Again, if you need anything else, let me know! :]
Thank you very much, i'll get my daughter those books. Are there any others that you would recomend by different authors?
ReplyDeleteMuch thanks,
Mrs. Tapes
Mrs. Tapes,
ReplyDeleteOf course! Waiting for You by Susane Colasanti is a good one. The book that really got me to love reading was A Corner of the Universe by Ann M. Martin. It's about a younger girl, so I think it would be good. It's not about a love story though. Keep in mind that I don't know exactly what books your daughter likes, these are just books I know are good and think are good suggestions. There's also The Giver by Lois Lowry, if your daughter likes books like that. Also, The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart, If I Have A Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince? by Melissa Kantor, any books by Janette Rallison, or The Fortunes of Indigo Skye by Deb Caletti
I LOVED this book! It was really addictive!
