Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood by Eileen Cook
Okay, so I couldn't get my new books in the store, so I bought them online. They should be here in a couple days, so you guys should be seeing a lot more posts soon! Today's book, I read online at this awesome website by Simon and Schuster. It's called Pulse It and it's an online reading community for teens! They have 4 books online for about a month and a half each, usually switching two at a time. This one, Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood, is the most recent one I've read. The description of this book is:
Popularity is the best revenge.
In the final weeks of eighth grade, Lauren Wood made a choice. She betrayed her best friend, Helen, in a manner so publicly humiliating that Helen had to move to a new town just to save face. Ditching Helen was worth it, though, because Lauren started high school as one of the It Girls--and now, at the start of her senior year, she's the cheerleading captain, the quarterback's girlfriend, and the undisputed queen bee. Lauren has everything she's ever wanted, and she has forgotten all about her ex-best friend.
But Helen could never forget Lauren. After three years of obsessing, she's moving back to her old town. She has a new name and a new look, but she hasn't dropped her old grudges. She has a detailed plan to bring down her former BFF by taking away everything that's ever been important to Lauren—starting with her boyfriend.
Watch out, Lauren Wood. Things are about to get bitchy.
I thought this book was really good! With this book, you'll love to hate Lauren and you'll love to root for Helen! This book is around 260 pages, so it's not too long and is definitely a fast read! I thought the end was pretty good too. It leaves you wanting to know more, but it wasn't one of those endings where you're thinking, "REALLY?? That's it?!" This book was so adorable and I loved the story. Girls everywhere will love the plot if nothing else. I mean, what girl hasn't been backstabbed and made fun of? If you're looking for a fun read and an instant mood uplift, this book is for you! Hope you guys enjoy :)

Bella,
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean! I love libraries like no other, but they never have ALL the books I want. I actually read this book online! I mentioned it in the post. Just go to pulseit.simonandschuster.com and register. Then, you'll be all set to start reading away!
Yeah, it's too bad theres a waiting period for webmaaster approval. I spent nearly the whole night waiting. It was worth it though!!

Jess,
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY what you mean. Half of the time I try to read those books something happens where it wont let me turn the pages for some amount of time. SO annoying, but I can never stop reading them :)
Sounds like a funny book! The cover is great... haha.
