The Espressologist by Kristina Springer

Alright! Finally settled in everyone. Today's book is The Espressologist by Kristina Springer. The description of this book is:

High school senior Jane Turner works part-time at a Chicago coffeehouse with her friend Em. She begins to notice that people order drinks that fit their personality, and soon she has created a notebook of entries for nearly all coffee orders. On a whim, she begins matching drinks, and therefore couples, together, and the matches are a hit. But when her competitive boss finds out, he decides to use Jane's matchmaker talents to rev up business, causing confusion in her personal life. This debut is compulsively readable in spite of a predictable plotline and dialogue that is contrived at times. Springer has created a lovable, naive young woman in Jane, and even those who don't drink java will enjoy the frothy story.

I personally loved this book! I thought the plot sounded so cool and different! I love Jane so much; her character in this book is awesome! I think I'm starting to be able to predict Ya books pretty well cause I predicted a lot of stuff in this one! I would love to be able to do what Jane does in this book. It's so cute! Anyway, this book is only around 200 pages so it's a short and fast read. I thought the author did a really great job on this book. I love the cover too! Don't you guys think it's really pretty? Anyway, I hope you guys try this one out cause I think you'll like it! Happy reading :)

  1. Oh I've read this! I loved it too! Haha, and what intrigued me first, was the cover lol.

Oh and can you give me your analisis on this? Please, I need someone else's opinion. I posted it on another post a few days ago and i don't know if you saw it or not:

Um, well remember when i told you about liking my best friend's brother? Well, um yesterday, he asked my best friend for my number so he could "prank text" me. Even though when i got his text, he said exactly who he was and when i didn't respond 'cause i was doing math homework, he texted me 5 times. All of them stating who he was, I guess to make sure I knew that it was him. So we had a little bit of a conversation, at the same time i was freaking out. And, i just don't know what that means. Is he just excited to text someone 'cause he JUST got his first cell phone, or did he wanna talk to me? I dont know, and my best friend says he was grinning while he was texting me and stuff, but I just don't know. I don't know if i'm in love, that sounds ridicules, but i just have this strange feeling. And, i just don't know what to do, it's so overwelming and I'm happy, but so scared at the same time.my best friend thinks he might like me and that theres a good chance he will if he doesnt now, but I'm not so sure. please help me

  2. Leah,
I'm glad you liked the book!

    About your question:
Yes, I saw your question this previous weekend, but my internet was messed up so it wouldn't let me respond. Thank you for reminding me.
All I can really think to say is to RELAX. Boys aren't really that complicated. If he texted you that much, he wants to talk to you. If he was just excited about his new phone, he would've moved on to someone else when you didn't answer. I highly doubt you're in love, but just enjoy the possibilities while you have them. Twelve year old boys aren't exactly "Slick with the ladies" as Sarah Dessen states in Lock and Key. So don't fret over it. Give it time and relax. Hope I helped :)
