Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

Hey everyone! Today is such a nice day in Ohio! It's sunny and like, 70 some degrees! I hope wherever you are, It's just as nice for you. Today's book is Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott. The description is:

Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared.
Once upon a time, my name was not Alice.
Once upon a time, I didn’t know how lucky I was.

When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends – her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over.
Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is what she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrifying than death in mind for her.
This is Alice’s story. It is one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget.

When I finished this book, all I could think was Oh my gosh. This book is intense. So, so intense. It is a very well written book, but very serious. Like, I would say only people 14/15+ should read it. It is such a powerful story. I think we're lucky that Elizabeth Scott was the one to write it. She has such talent in making us feel the emotions her characters feel. I was watching one of Elizabeth's V-blogs on the Readergirlz website and she said another author said that no one should read this book, ever. I think that is complete crap. Every story deserves a chance doesn't it? This story, I think, is one that should be read by many. People may not understand that things like this happen all the time. Elizabeth Scott took a risk by writing this book and having it published and for that I give her tremendous credit. Elizabeth is one powerful writer and she seems ultimately fearless. She writes what needs to be wrote. And to her, Alice's story was one people needed to hear.
If you're looking for a book that will put you in a happy mood, this one isn't for you. But, if you're looking for a book that is great, true, and full of intensity, this one is for you. I hope you older folks check this one out-- it's worth a chance. It's only a little under 200 pages also, so it's a quick read. They will probably have it at your library so I would check for it there first. Happy reading everyone! :)

  2. It is very intense and very sad as well. I love that Elizabeth writes books that vary so much from each other. I read this one in a couple of hours because I just couldn't put it down.

I totally love that about Elizabeth's books as well! They're all so different from each other but they're all so great :)

    Bella,

I really don't know how you miss Ohio. It's so sporadic with it's weather I can't keep up!

  7. Haha, I miss Ohio too...
Oh I was in a book store today and I saw all the books you've written about on here! I read a little bit of each, and they were great! I especially liked "The Lonely Hearts Club"! I don't think I saw this book but it sounds great!

  8. How do you recieve your ARC books? And when is your next contest?

  9. I receive ARC's in couple of ways. The most common way is to e-mail either the author or the publisher and ask them if they're running an ARC tour for whatever book you're interested in reviewing. I don't believe they give out ARC's unless you have a book blog to review it on.
Another way to get an ARC would be to go to a popular author conference like the ALA meeting in New York. They give out so many ARC's. I haven't been to one personally but when I went to the Books of Wonder signing, I met Renee from The Book Girl Reviews and she told me that's how she got a lot of her ARC's.
The last way I can think of (which may not be the last one - just the last one of my knowledge) would be to win it in a contest from an author. I recently won 21 books from Elizabeth Scott and ten of them were ARC's.

My next contest should be next Friday! :)
